Modern Handleless Kitchen

Our customer came to us with the view that their kitchen was looking tired and out of date. Whilst they were happy with the overall layout and design of their kitchen, they knew there were improvements that could be made to allow them to enjoy the functionality of the area and also leave the room being more visually appealing.

Wanting a more modern finish, our customer opted for our True Handleless range in matt dust grey. Being truly handleless means that there are no handles, even a built-in handle which is normally referred to as a ‘J pull’ or ‘J handle’.

The benefit of going truly handleless means that you have a slab door with a rail system. This means that there won’t be an opportunity for a build up of dust or dirt in the ‘J handle’, and also gives a fantastic sleek finish to the entire kitchen. Here, our customer chose a graphite rail, which you can see in the video and photos if you look closely (it looks like a black line at the top of the cupboards and in between the drawers).

Wanting to brighten up the room our customer changed from a black worktop to an ‘imperial white’ which as you can see brings so much light to the room, reflecting the light coloured walls, natural lighting, under cabinet lighting and spotlights beautifully. By adding the upstand to the worktop, there is just that extra level of detail and sophistication. It also means that you can completely remove any need for tiling if you wish to achieve that more minimalistic style which is completed so smoothly here with the bespoke glass splashback behind the hob.

We specified and installed a complete range of new appliances as part of this project. Our personal favourite is the Neff Built-In 5 Burner Gas Hob, we think it looks exceptionally smart and ties in with that overall ‘sleek’ look that emanates from the room. Our customer always had an american style fridge freezer and absolutely loved what it offered, however they didn’t like how cumbersome it looked in the dining area. By building a bespoke housing unit including a tall larder pull out to the left of the fridge, not only does the appliance now blend into the background but it is also perfect for that extra storage that we all desperately need!

On the note of storage, we also managed to include more drawers including deep pan drawers and installed corner storage solutions in order to better utilise the cupboard space.

We installed a new water softener in order to help combat that hard water we all struggle with in Norfolk and finally installed the warm and softening karndean flooring in Quayside Oak to complete this idyllic and modern new kitchen renovation.
