Traditional Gold and Blue Shower Room
You wouldn’t believe the transformation this room had even if we showed you! Our customers believed that the room could be better utilised if its main layout received a complete overhaul, so that’s exactly what we did, and the results were incredible.
Having previously housed a bath without a shower on the left wall from the window and a toilet and freestanding basin on the wall to the right of the window, the floor space that was previously available was very narrow with various ‘gaps’ that were otherwise unusable.
Our first job was to redesign the floor layout. We agreed that we could utilise the window wall to install a full width walk-in shower by simply removing the window sill to create a slim tiled finish instead and adding privacy film to the window. This then opened up a great square space for around 2/3rds of the room which we were free to play around with designs and furniture options to meet our customers requirements and visions.
Together we agreed on mixing a WC fitted furniture unit with a freestanding vanity unit. The beautiful Roper Rhodes Hampton range, finished in Derwent blue did not disappoint. We were also able to retain more floor space by opting for a slim WC unit - if you look at the furniture you will notice that there is a large difference in depth between the two units. Considering the fact that WC furniture does not allow for any storage space, you may as well cut back on depth, opening up your free space, giving the illusion of a larger room and also adding ‘layers’ to your design.
The furniture area was finished using Carrara marble for the worktops, Fresno brass knobs for the cupboards and drawers and finally the Burlington Regal back to wall pan, Crosswater tap and waste and matching Hampton underslung sink.
By using two contrasting tile choices, we were able to firstly carry through the blue colour theme into the shower area and also make said area the main focal point of the room. With such rich tones of blue, the combination of product choices and well thought out design became a highly attractive pair.
